Snow Days, Snowmen

Good morning! How are you? Are you getting tired of all of the snow? Were you able to have a snow day yesterday?

I did not but I did manage to get out and take a few photos. I think everything looks better with a little snow, don't you agree?

I find that ugly things take on an air of mischief and naturally beautiful things become magical with a mantle of snow.

The swirling flakes, whispering wind, and the tinkle of wind chimes create a symphony to accompany the mystical wonderland that appears on snowy days.

I have said this more times that I can count, winter is my favorite time of the year. I never tire of the beauty that emerges from these storms. I find peace in the fresh fallen snow and the nesting it inspires in me.

I hope that you have a wonderful day! Take some time to stop and enjoy the weather wherever you live.

  1. I know exactly what you mean about the snow Elizabeth. It makes everything look so clean and blanketed. We have not had any, just endless grey, windy cold days. It makes me go into hibernation mode. All I have done for the past month is gym, bed, food, gym, bed. Good times though :-)

  2. Your pictures are beautful Elizabeth but we've received over five feet of snow in one month and I'm ready for it to move on and let spring move in.

    Enjoy your day!

  3. Hi there..I do love winter but have to say I am sort near the end of my rope. We had our one huge snowfall so I am ready to zip into spring. I miss seeing beautiful green grass, flowers blooming, I cannot wait to be able to throw open the windows but winter certainly is a beautiful season and there's not doubt that everything looks magical with snow covering it from homes to funny looking gargoyles!

  4. Dearest Elizabeth!

Like you, I find that winter has a beauty that cannot be forced to love. It has to be examined in the silence, in the gentleness of every falling snowflake. I so look forward to all that spring has to unfold, but winter will always hold a special place in my heart, no matter how old I get. Peace my dear. Anita

  5. Hi Elizabeth,

Snow really does create a different look and feel to our environment. Living in Seattle we don't get a lot of snow unless you live in the mountains or foothills. I enjoy the occasional snow day and hunkering down, wrapping up and cooking a hearty meal. I'll take the cooler temps over heat any day :)
